Price of Laneige Water Sleeping Pack _ EX in Korea

Luckily my husband's friend has informed me that the Laneige is generally cheaper in the airport compared to the ones in town.

Below is a photo of the product sold in town (Myeongdong, to be exact):

It retails for KRW25,000 (about RM77) in town.

In Shilla Duty Free in Incheon airport, the price is USD19 (RM64) only! I bought 3 - 1 for my friend, 1 for my mother-in-law & 1 for myself :)

Price of Sulwashoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Eye Cream

Before I board my flight back to KL, I dropped in at one of the many Shilla Duty Free scattered around Incheon Airport (for this purchase i went to the one located near the departure gate, meaning after you get off from the aero train). My sis in law told me that she heard that Sulwashoo's ginseng eye cream is good.

It's quite expensive, USD140. However, I got a discount due to some Shila Duty Free coupon I found in the limousine bus, so I paid RM439.90 for it in the end.

They even gave me a free sample - Hydro-Aid Moisturizing Lifting Mist, which I gave to my mom.

South Korea masks

Who doesn't like a good ol' mask?
Top left : Tony Moly Pureness 100 Caviar Mask Sheet Nutrition.
10 masks about KRW10,000, that works out to be about RM3 per mask.

Top centre : Tony Moly I'm Real Aloe Mask Sheet Moisturizing.
Price the same as above.

Top right : Innisfree It's Real Manuka Honey Mask.
10 masks + 1 free mask at KRW9,500, that works out to be RM2.76 per mask.

Bottom : Étude House (Job's Tears, Tea Tree, Korean Ginseng, Collagen and Fig). They were having a promo, 20 masks for KRW9,500! That works out to be RM1.52 per mask -_- (Apparently original price is 10 masks for KRW9,500).

Nature Republic - Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel

I just got back from South Korea! I'm not one who uses South Korean beauty products, even though KL has Nature Republic, Etude House, etc. Just the occasional South Korean masks from friends who have just visited the country.

Myeongdong is crazy! Each brand (the famous ones, that is) has a few branches here.

First product I'd like to write about is Nature Republic's Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel. There are just tubs and tubs of these in the shop! Cheaper if you buy more, but since I'm new to the brand, I only bought one.. It's only KRW4,400 (which is like RM13..?) for one tub.

It's a pretty big tub for the price I paid!

Anyway, the smell is light and I use it on my body. Dries quickly, too. If you search online, there are people who also use this on their hair, lips, eyes... Pretty much an all-purpose gel!

SK-II Aura Whitening Set

Bought 2 of these sets (1 for me, 1 for my mom) when I was in Osaka in May 2013. I didn't really research on Japan's duty free shopping perks for tourists before my trip. But I knew that the SK-II Aura Whitening Set is priced RM499 in Malaysia. Anyway, the 1st set I bought from Daimaru, the 2nd set I bought on the last day from a duty free shop in Kansai International Airport (KIX). Comparison of price (pls note that exchange rate was v good in May 2013):

Malaysia: RM499
Daimaru (Osaka): JPY15,750 (RM475.35)
KIX: JPY12,000 (RM361.99)

The set that I bought from Daimaru does not qualify for tax refund because it falls under 'consumable items'. Copied this off the Internet:
"Duty free shopping is available to foreign tourists only at a small number of licensed stores (typically major department and electronics stores in major cities) when making purchases of over 10,000 yen. Usually you pay the listed price at the cashier, and then take your receipts and your passport to a customer service desk to receive the tax refund. Consumable items including cosmetics, food, alcohol, cigarettes, medicine, film and batteries do not qualify for the tax refund."
So, now you know, my dear Malaysian readers (if any, haha), just buy your cosmetics from the airport when in Japan ! They have limited selection compared to the SK-II counters in town (in fact I'm not sure if there even was a SK-II Sales Assistant, I jz grabbed it fr the rack as soon as I saw the price & paid for it).

The SK-II Aura Whitening set consists of the following:
1) Cellumination Essence EX - 30ml
2) Facial Treatment Essence - 30ml
3) Whitening Source Derm-Revival Mask - 1 pc
4) Cotton - 10 pcs
